Graduation Hat Box & Card

Good mornin' peeps!

Well it's that time of year...Graduations are a comin'! I made this card & Grad hat box for Sarah (my daughter-in-law), her niece is graduating from high school next month & I wanted to make her something for the occasion that I thought she would like. What does every grad want for graduation? You guessed it...money and what better way to present it than something unique. I came across this box template that Adela was selling & knew I just had to have it, it was soooo stinkin' cute! I went to work on it the minute I finished downloading the template & instructions. Sarah loved it & can't wait to give it to her niece, I hope she likes it as much as I do.

Well have a great day & thanks for stopping by, I love your company. Leave a comment & let me know what you think.

My inspiration for this card came from Frenchie, she made an adorable grad owl topper & I used her tutorial to make a card instead. I just cut the top note die cut in half, made my owl & placed it on the front of my card...real easy. Thanks Frenchie

I bought the grad hat template design from Adela, it was very easy to create & so much fun, I used her school colors for this box.

inside...roll up money & tie a ribbon around it & you will make any grad very happy, don't ya think? I used white paper here, sad to say the day I took these pictures I didn't even have a dollar bill on hand to roll up, hahaha!!!

Look at what was in my yard the the other day! A wild turkey...all by his lonesome. I was walking by the window & saw something from the corner of my eye that caught my attention & it was this guy just standing still like a little statue, I watched him or her for awhile & he did not move for at least 5 minutes, it was amazing. Usually they travel in packs of 6 or more, so it was very unusual to see just one. I guess he was dilly dallying around & taking his time so the others must have moved on without him. He finally moved on & walked into the woods so I got my camera out before he disappeared & snapped a few shots through my living room window (standing still) & I got a picture of him while he was walking away (kitchen window).

Happy Birthday to a Dear Friend!

Hello Peeps!!!

I want to give a BIG shout out to a dear friend who is celebrating her birthday today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDI!!!

Hope you have a fabulous day! Love you! Will let everyone know when our next get together will be, I hope to send out an email soon.

When I saw this image I knew I had to have it, it was the perfect stamp for a friend of mine. I had Sandi in mind for this stamp because she loves horses & loves walking them whenever she can at a local horse farm where she lives. I bought this image about 2 years ago but never had the time to color it around her birthday...there was always something pressing at the time. This year I was determined to make this card, so before I started on the wedding invitations I made Sandi's birthday card first, put it in an envelope, addressed it & it was ready to mail out when the time was right. I hope she likes it!

Cruise anyone???

Good mornin' Peeps!

Like my title? Well it's a hint to let you know what else I've been working on lately. Jessica is going on a New Kids on the Block Cruise next month...don't ask, she's been obsessed with the band ever since they came back on tour & Donnie Wahlberg came on a TV series (Blue Bloods). The big VIP fans (yes she's one of them) call themselves....wait for it...Blockheads!!! It all started when she was about 10 years old & New Kids hit the music industry, she had to have everything New Kids, she was in Love with Donnie back then & it never ended. She had night shirts, towels, bed sheets, posters, you name it she had to have it & of course being the mom that I am, I bought it for her. Anyway, back to my project. She asked me if I could make some post-its with pens for the cruise since they won't be able to use their phones (OMG...nooooooo)on the ship to keep in touch. This way they can write a note & leave it on their cabin door to let their friends know where they are & where to meet up. Could I PLEASE (the magic word)come up with some sort of design with a cruise ship on it. It took me awhile to find the ship that I liked but I finally did, thanks to my fave stamp store Bella Art...thanks again Maryann! Jessica & her friends love them & so mom is a hit once again! I love it too!!!

Here's a picture of when she met Donnie...dreams do come true if you wait long enough. I love this picture!

Have a great day & thanks for dropping by & spending a little part of your day with me!

Made 12 of these for Jessica & her Blockhead friends for their cruise.

The stamp I got from my local stamp store (Bella Art) it's by A Muse, Musical Notes are MFT dies, I composed the wording on my computer, printed & spaced it out a few times on my card stock, then stamped the ship, colored with copics & cut them all out. I used various DSP, Post-its & the little pens I bought from Staples.

Happy stampin' peeps!
