Totally Cool!

Hi everyone,

Here is the card that I made yesterday morning. I'm very pleased with the way this card turned out...I'm getting better, but still have a long way to go. Let me know if you think I need some tools that may help me & give me the names of them. I'm thinking of asking for a Cuttlebug machine for Christmas, what do you think?

I used Marvy Le Plume II water based markers to color in the stamp. Not too bad, those markers were very easy to work with, being my first time at coloring, I liked the ease of those markers. I brushed a little ink around the girl so it would give it a shaded effect, I actually like the look.

Here is the inside of the card.
What I used:
Paper: Bo Bunny, Creating Keepsakes & yellow CS
Stamps: SU Totally Cool, & sentiments, $1. stamps from Michael's
Ink: Not Quite Navy, & Pink Passion
Ribbon from Michael's

I can't wait to get my order & try the crayons out with the aqua pen.
Thanks for stopping by & have a fabulous Sunday!

My first card for a challenge

Good morning all!

Well, I finally did it!!! I submitted my very first card (see below) to Jen's challenge # 8. It's cute I think for my first card without all the tools at hand. I know I will do better once I get all my stuff from SU next week. I can't wait to start creating & see my progress as time goes on, everyone gets more creative with experience. Well I'm off for my semi annual doctor's visit, (I hate going) & to do some errands. So you all have a great day! Thanks for stopping by & please sign my guest book.

My very first Card!

I made this card for Jen as a thank you for helping me with my blog. I can now post the pictures 'cause Jen has received the card. It was a surprise & I did not want her to know about it before she got it in the mail. This was my very first attempt at making a card. I also made her a matching magnetic bookmark. The instructions for the bookmark are on my sidebar under links. I'm happy the way the card turned out, but I'm sure I'll get better at it now that I will soon have the right paper & tools for card making.

Michael's Spending Spree!!!

Good morning all!

Well as promised I am posting 4 pictures of everything I bought yesterday & when I took the pics...well it just doesn't look like a whole lot for $100. It sure adds up quickly, doesn't it? I also ordered the scor-pal yesterday & can't wait to get it. Heehee!!! I'm a naughty girl on a mission to spend!!

This is the ribbon I bought for $1. each, they are great, I love the colors! I had to put some back "cause I couldn't buy all of them. I'll have to wait for another sale to buy more. Hee! Hee!

Now here are the stamps I got for $1. I couldn’t resist getting these that cheap!!! What a bargain. Every little bit helps, right girls?

Now the more expensive items not on sale, although I did get one item for 40% off with coupon (luv those coupons). Martha Stuart ABC stamps & mount, tags by MS, cards & envelopes and I just had to have this LOVE stamp (I luv it). I will use this on my daughter’s engagement scrapbook and on cards.

Le Plume II two points in one (extra fine & brush tips) water based pens, 2 white pen (could not decide on gel or other 1 so bought them both, heehee!!), MS bone folder & 1/8” punch & finally 3 scallop scissors for $1.

What a stash…I’m luvin” it! Now I need to go see my SU girl this week or next & order more stuff from her. Soon I’ll be making my own cards…can’t wait.
Well hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend & thanks for stopping by & sharing my excitement on my new products.

35th Wedding Anniversary Party

Well as promised I am posting my 35th wedding anniversary album. I still can't believe my kids pulled this party off without so much as a slip from anybody. WOW!!! These people can sure keep a secret. Jessica & Marc told us they had been planning this party since January. I was expecting a nice dinner in a Boston restaurant (he wouldn't tell us where)& Marc said he had someplace special to take us, so knowing how much I love comedy clubs - I thought the kids were taking us to a comedy club for a surprise after dinner. Marc said we had to stop off at this club/restaurant first to pick up Jessica & her Fiance Steve (they were having drinks with his parents). This is the place where we had Jessica's engagement party, but she had set this up a few months ago by saying that her & Steve go there for drinks sometimes "cause their cheap", so I didn't think anything of it till we got to the parking lot & I thought I saw my brother-in-laws truck. That's when it clicked! Dah!!
We had a great time, they found our wedding song & played it for us to dance to and they had us play the newlywed game to see how much we knew each other after 35 years (& we sure do know one another). One of the questions was "What was the best gift that mom ever gave you Dad"? His answer - are you ready??? Marc & Jessica, how great is that!!! I got it wrong (the only one I might add). We just had to take a picture of that card with his answer. Then Marc put together a slide show with pics of us dating, wedding, etc, to present day. He honored us with what great parents we were & how they hope that they have a marriage as great as ours someday, oh my, how that brought us to tears. We were so happy to share the evening with such great family & friends.

Well tonight I'm off to a friends house for some scrapping. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, hope you enjoy. Take care.

I give up!!!

Hi,

I have finally decided to give up on trying to fit the guest book to the left side of my blog. I have been trying for 3 days now (all day long, except yesterday, I went out) but every time I try, it's still too big and it won't go smaller...I've tried. I keep tryin & deleting. Oh well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

I still did not take pictures of my other scrapbook albums that I just finished last week, but will get them posted eventually.

This is going to be a short post today. Hope everyon is keeping cool. Thank you for dropping by and I will talk to you tomorrow.

Hugs...Rita

Wow!! I finally did it, I can't believe it. I finally created a blog web page (and with no help from my kids), I'm so proud of myself. Nothing like tooting your own horn, hehehe!!!

Well I hope to post some pictures of my scrapbook pages & other pictures for you to see real soon. Wish me luck!

Today is Sunday and this is my very first post. I hope to get started on my daughter's Vegas scrapbook today or tomorrow. She does not like to scrapbook, so I told her I would do it for her. Two years ago I bought her 2 books and supplies to do a summer book (it was a summer of fun with all her friends) and a book of her trip Las Vegas with me, my hubby and her friend Nicki. She did a few pages of her summer book and decided it wasn't for her, but I am making her finish the summer book. I guess some people just are not cut out for this hobby. Me, I'm addicted to it.

Well I guess thats it for today and my first blog entry. Talk to you soon.

Have a good day!
