Hope your having a great day! This is a quickie post, I have to go take a shower to go out with hubby for the day & he is waiting for me to get ready. This was a quick simple card & I'm happy with the way this card turned out. At first I was having trouble picking CS and DP to go with this image, but I think I finally got it right. Let me know what you think. Take care & have a wonderful happy weekend! Thanks for stopping by today!

Tri Fold Surprise Card

Hello Ladies!

I worked on this card late last night & love how this card turned out. I so love this cute little sassy turtle (I received this image from Jen), this turtle has a personality of her own...she's sooooo darn cute!!! I have to ask Jen where I can get one of these turtle stamps! Any who, on to my card. This Tri Fold card I cased from Dawn, she has the best tutorials & when I saw this card I knew I had to make one. This card was so easy to make after watching Dawn's video again & I had so much fun making it! Thanks Dawn for all the great knowledge you bring to all of us girls here in blogland! I added the Surprise to my card because the inside sentiment suspends from the elastic cord & when you open the card you really don't expect to see that, so I thought hmmmmm...let me add surprise to my card title! What do ya think? Well I gotta go do some things & hopefully I will have another card for you tomorrow. Until then, have a great day & thanks for stopping by!

Hugs...Rita

JavaBella Birthday Card

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend! We got a few inches of snow this weekend & it was so beautiful but it's almost all gone already. I think I've had enough of the cold weather...BRING ON SPRING!!! I think we are all dreaming of warmer temps right now. Don't you just wish for Spring at the end of February every year? Well enough about the weather.

On to today's card! I cased this card from SCS. This card I sent to Jen of Pieces of me for her birthday. Happy Birthday Jen!!! Today is her birthday so hop on over & wish her a happy birthday! I luv this card it reminds me of just spending time with friends Chit Chatting away while drinking coffee! When our kids were smaller & we were all stay at home moms back then, the ladies from the neighborhood & I would get together every week for some coffee & chatter. We would take turns hosting this weekly event while our kids played with each other. Now that our kids are all grown & some have moved away we no longer do this but remain a close knit neighborhood. I also sent Jen some goodies & was glad to hear that she liked them all!

Thank you so very much for stopping by & sharing a little part of your day with me, I really appreciate it! Have a great day & keep on stamping!

Stadium was packed!

Hi everyone!

Wow, what a great time we had last night. I felt so important, we were in the VIP section of the stadium in the fourth row court side! Great seats!!! It was packed, so many people. It was so funny I got a phone call right after my son came down, it was from a friend of mine telling me that she was at the game & just saw my son propel from the ceiling at the game. I called her back to tell her that I was there too, we made plans to see each other at half time & chat a little, it was great seeing her again. Marc's mission was successful & we were very happy to see him on the floor & safe. The Red Sox 2007 World Series Trophy was at the stadium & we got to take pictures with it. Marc attended URI & got his engineering degree there & later on was an instructor for the ROTC program for his last 2 years in the service. While he was working there he also went for his Masters degree in business & now has a fantastic job in the private sector after leaving the Army. It was great having him close by for those years after being away for so long, I guess you can tell that we are so very proud of this young man who happens to be OUR son! We did a great job in raising both of our children & are proud of them both. They have done us proud! Here are some pictures below of last nights game. Enjoy!

Well this was a long post today, so sorry. I will have some cards for you next week, I promise. Thank you for stopping by today & spending some time with me. Take care & have a great weekend!!!

Hugs...Rita

My son Marc. Talking to Steve (daughter's future husband)to have him tape ESPN II, they were televising the game live.

Marc - talking with his former boss at URI. Marc was an instructor for the ROTC program at URI (his Alma motta)his last 2 years in the service.

OMG...that's a long way down Marc!

Here he comes, WOW!!! Great job Marc!!!

Officials taking the game ball from Marc's backpack

Smiling for the TV cameras.

Just finishing up his duties & now the ref has the game ball. Mission accomplished!

It was a sold out game & kids were camped outside the day before at 6 PM waiting in line for tickets. Every seat in the stadium was taken!

Here's Rhody...URI's Mascot

Me with the Red Sox 2007 World Series Trophy. They had the trophy upstairs at the stadium during the game so everyone could see it & take a picture with it. This was a fantastic surprise & I'm so glad I got to see it!

Happy Mail Today

Hi Everyone!

Hope your all having a wonderful day! My mail lady delivered a great surprise today from a wonderful friend. I recieved this great card & candy holder with Dove chocolate, mmmmmmmmm good, my favorite!!! Malieta you made my day today girl! You put a big smile on my face when I saw this, thank you so much! Malieta's blog is Life's Simple Pleasures she is a fantastic crafter, pop over & take a look for yourself, your going to love her work. Thanks again Malieta!

Well I need to get ready to go see my son propel from the rafters of the Ryan Center at half time at the URI basketball game tonight. I'm not sure about this, I'm being a nervous mom even though I know he knows what he's doing & is a man now, & has been in the service, (he was a pilot & he's jumped out of planes & has been in harms way in ways that I don't even want to think about) I still can't help but worry...that's what moms do no matter how old they get, right? He's still my little boy in my mind & he always will be. He will hate that I said that, but will understand. I'll see if I can take some pictures & maybe post 1 tomorrow.

Take care & thanks for poping in today. Have a great day!

Hugs...Rita

Candy holder & card from Malieta. What a great job & I love this heart paper. She wrapped it in tissue paper with hearts & a ribbon, it was so pretty! Thank you Malieta.

I bought some red glitter & fixed Deb's card as best I could, the red didn't match yours Deb so I had to go over the glitter that was still on the card. It's not perfect, sorry Deb! I really like this image so I wanted to give it a try.

Bella in Purple

Happy President's Day Everyone!

Hope everyone who works is enjoying this extra day off! As for me I think I'm going to go to Michael's after I post this today. I need a few things...you all know what that means, right? Don't we all go to the craft store & buy more than what we intended? We start out with good intentions & then we start looking to see what else they have or what's new that they got in or check out their clearance section & WHAM, we spent more than we wanted & it sure can add up fast!!! Well hubby gave me a gift certificate for Valentine's Day & I intend to use it today. Hope I stay within my limit....Yeah Right, like that's going to happen! Hehehe!!!

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day! This is going to be a very short post sorry! I'll have some cards for you next week, so have a great weekend & thanks for stopping by my blog today!

I was so surprised today when I got a package from Jen of Pieces of me, when I opened it up I was pleasantly surprised to see this beautiful lollypop holder & stamped images. Jen knows how much I luv Penquins, thank you so much Jen, you put a big smile on my face today when I needed it most. You gave me that spark of sunshine that I desperately needed to get out of my depressed state. I luv it & those images are terrific, I can't wait to make a card with that cute little turtle!

This beautiful card came from Deb of Stampingranny. Deb some of the glitter came off of the card during mailing I guess & ended up in the envelope, but there wasn't enough glitter for me to fix it & I don't own red glitter, so sorry! But I luv the card, thank you so much for thinking of me, you put a smile on my face this week.

I Love Hanna!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I'm sending you all a day full of LOVE! The Sun is out today & I thinks it's out for the whole day....so it's a great day here ladies! Sunshine & love are in the air, can you feel it? That's all I need, wellllllll...more stamps would really help, you can never have enough stamps, their like shoes, we like to buy shoes & stamps & never have enough, right ladies?

Onto my Hanna card, I just LOVE Hanna & can't get enough of her, she's so beautiful, she reminds me of my daughter! We love to shop & this stamp reminds me of us when we go shopping. This is a birthday card I made for Jessica's best friend & Maid of Honor Sarah, I had so much fun making this card. I did a lot of paper piecing on this card & used the Quickie glue pen, oh let me tell you this glue pen is FANTASTIC!!! It's my new toy! I used to use it just to add some glitter to some of my cards & could not master it for anything else, but the other day I figured I would give it one more shot on the paper piecing, well...this time I guess I mastered it & everything came out right where I wanted it & I got it right!!! The first time I tried to paper piece Hanna I made a mess & got the glue in her hair & it wouldn't color right 'cause of the glue smeared on the cs, so this time it worked out beautifully...yipeeeeee!!! Can you tell I'm excited? Just a little! Hehehe!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by & sharing your day with me, I really appreciate all of you & hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Hugs & Kisses
Rita

My Tweety Bird Card & UHU Review

Hi ladies!

Here is a card that reminds me of my favorite bird...Tweety!
Also a review of the UHU Scrapbookers Glue Pen. Be sure to check out the UHU blog at http://www.mariafilosa.com/ You may still be able to get some free products to try & review on your blog. So here goes.

UHU Scrapbookers Gel Pen Review

A few weeks ago I received the UHU Scrapbookers Gel Pen to try and then write a review about this product. If you would like to try some free UHU products go to http://www.mariafilosa.com & send her an email with your info. Here is my review:

This product is a clear gel & although I’m not a fan of liquid glues, because I usually make a BIG mess & get more glue on me & my projects than on the area that I want glued. Hehehe!!! It wasn’t all that bad once I got the hang of it. I used it on this card to glue down the crystals & paper. I first squeezed a little (which turned out to be more than I wanted) on the back of the crystal, me & liquid glue do not mix well, I had stringy glue all over my image (but it DID come off with the gum eraser, whew! Insert happy face.). I then got a toothpick & used that to put glue on the backs of the remaining crystals & it worked like a charm I’m happy to say! This glue does dry & stick very well, so that is a big plus, but would I buy it for myself…I don’t think so, liquid glue just isn’t for me. Some of you girls can really get into this liquid glue & love it so this may be a product you would like, I don’t know. I did try it again to be fair but still could not get the hang of it, some of us have it & some of us don’t…I guess I’m part of the don’t get it group. The glue does dry quickly & adheres to your projects securely & stays put so no problem there, it works very well, it’s just not for me. So you might want to give this product a try if you like liquid glue.

Another Sick Bella Card

Hello everyone!

Hope your all having a wonderful day today! It's still cloudy here & we're getting a few snow flurries, not much accumulation though just enough to cover the ground & keep the sun away. I need the sun!!! It's been too gloomy here for about a week now. Wish I was in Vegas soaking up the sun & relaxing. Well we won't be going there till after the wedding, we're pushing for October, my sister wants to go there to celebrate her 75th birthday & get some of the family to meet there & celebrate with her. I'm the baby of the family at 57, the oldest is 76, my mother thought she was done when she had her 6th child, but 8 years later I came along. Hehehe!!! It will be great to get some of us together & I can't wait to see some of my nieces that I haven't seen in years!

Well on to the card of the day! This is the other FeelaBella card that I made the other day. I just changed the paper & colors & sentiment for a different look.

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by today! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Hugs...Rita

My Poor Sweet Bella is Sick!

Hi Ladies!

First of all I want to say how sorry I am to the people who have gone through the ordeal of those terrible tornados, you are in my thoughts & prayers. I can't even imagine what you have been through & I am so very sorry.

To all of you who are getting all that snow, I hope you are all staying warm & if you have to go out in that snow PLEASE be careful driving & stay safe. We were lucky, we got all rain here, the western part of the state did get some snow but I don't think it was much compared to other states. I would love to see some pictures of the snow scenes, I have always loved seeing pictures of freshly fallen snow on the roads & the trees, it's so magical to me! Snow is such a nuisance but it is soooo beautiful! Don't ya think?

Well on to today's card. I just had to get this FeelaBella stamp, I thought it was so cute & would make a great get well card for friends & family! When I first saw this stamp I thought of my daughter right away & had her in mind when I bought it, but wouldn't you know it I buy it & no one gets sick! That's a good thing right? But I've been itching to make a card with this Bella...soooo I made two & will put them away till I need a get well card, hopefully I won't have to use it. I bet your all laughing at me 'cause you can tell that I'm dying to send it to someone & your absolutely right! Hehehe!!! But seriously, I don't want anyone to get sick. Colds can be such a pain in the butt & no one likes to be sick.

Well have a great day & thanks for spending a little part of your day with me! I truly appreciate your company! Toodles!!! OMG did I say that? Do YOU remember saying that when you were a teenager? I haven't said that in YEARS!!!

Hugs...Rita

Hi everyone!

Hope everyone had a great day today! Here is one of the cards I made the other day, I have 3 more Bella cards for you, but I'll only share one a day so that I can have something to post each day. I stamped two of the same stamp but used different DP & colors. I still have a few cards I need to make in order to catch up & mail out. So this post is short & sweet, sorry! I still have some stamps that I got for Christmas that I don't think I will be able to ink up (winter stamps) unless I can get around to it before the Spring, so stay tuned to see if I do! Hehehe!!! Thanks so much for stopping in & visiting me today. Happy stamping ladies!!!

Tagged Again!

I was tagged by Courtney, thank you sweetie! For this tag you have to list a fact about yourself using the letters from your middle name, but what I'm going to do is to use the big city near me which is Boston, it's about 40 miles north of where I live. So here goes!

B – Busy getting ready for my daughter’s wedding.

O – Ought to get a job to support my stamping habit.

S – Sunny disposition, I am always smiling!

T – Trying to get organized but not succeeding to my liking. (In my craft room)

O – Only in Boston can you see the "BIG Green Monster"...at Fenway Park!

N – Not a good idea to just take me to the Mall to walk, because most of the time I will buy something.

Consider yourself tagged by me if you want to put this tag on your blog, but use a city near you or use your state instead of your middle name. Have fun!

I will be back later with a card. I made some cards this weekend but I need to take pictures & write down the details for each card, then edit the pictures. I'm almost caught up with the cards that I need to make to send out & then I can get busy doing projects that I can't share with you till after the shower & wedding. I will also try to at least make a card a day or every other day & post it on my blog...so PLEASE bare with me for the next few months. Thank you so much.

Hugs...Rita

Thoughts of you card

Hi Ladies!

Well the BIG weekend has finally arrived!!! Will you be in front of the TV watching the SUPER BOWL? You know I will be rooting for the New England Patriots, what an AWESOME team we have here!!! GOOOOOOOOO PAT'S!!!

Well enough of that, on to stamping stuff, right ladies? Here is a card I made for a friend of mine who lost her step father & is having a hard time dealing with it. Death is not something we can get over quickly, it takes a lot of healing & faith. I finally got around to making a card, I had no Sympathy stamps but I did have this one & she & her family are in my thoughts, so I thought it would be appropriate. I think I'm going to have to invest in a few Sympathy stamps. I have all the details to this card below.

Hope you all have a wonderful Super Bowl weekend & don't eat too much! Hehehe!!!
Thanks for stopping by tonight. Opppps...darling son just called, gotta go.

Hugs...Rita
