Happy Mail

BOO!!!!
Happy Halloween everybody! Hope your giving lots of candy away to all the little goblins out there tonight. As for me there are only 5 houses on my street & all our kids are grown. The new owners of the house across from me (they have been there for 5 years now)have a child in middle school & the others are in high school so they do parties & don't go door to door so this is the 3rd year that we have had no kids. We buy a few bags of candy anyway just in case, you never know, plus it give us an excuse to eat the candy later when no one shows up, hehehe!!!

I received some blog candy that I won the other day over at Mary's blog (It's all about the Journey) today. Go visit her blog she's one talented lady. Thanks again Mary, I luv it all! That package sure did get here fast, she picked the winner on Monday & I received it today, but then again she only lives in New Hampshire which is next door to Massachusetts.

Well thanks for stopping by tonight & I will have some cards for you tomorrow. Take care, don't let the ghosts & witches get you!!!

Hugs...Rita

Snowman Card

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm sooo excited that my RED SOX won the World Series, Yippee!!!!!!!!! Did you watch last night? What a great game. The Rockies are a great team & their time will come, I have no doubt about that...so watch for them in the coming years! In 2004 the Red Sox broke the curse & won that trophy for our parents who waited about 86 years for a World Series win & this win was for the team & their current younger fans & we are all so pleased. Thank you RED SOX!!!

Well on to the card at hand, here is a card that I really enjoyed making. I used the new CM Snow Flake Punch & used it for the background on the dark blue paper with the white showing through it. I luv the way it looks.
Well have a great Monday night everyone & happy stamping all!!!

Hugs...Rita

My First Bella Card!!!

Hi ladies,

Well I finally got around to making a card with the Bella images that Jen sent, & I love the way it came out. I don't have any Bellas so Jen sent me some, she's just the best!!! I can't wait to get me some Bellas, I love them...do you hear that Dan, Jessica, Marc??? You can remedy that for me ya know...hint, hint, Christmas is coming real soon so keep that in mind! Nothing like a BIG hint for my family. Hahaha!!! Well anyway here's my card, hope you like.

By the way please keep Deb from Stampingranny in your thoughts & prayers. She was evacuated from her home early this morning due to the San Diego fires. She is safe & staying with a friend, but is worried about her house. Hopefully this will all be over soon & homes will be spared. Good luck Deb.

Halloween Cards

Hi everyone,

Hope your weekend is going great! It's a gloomy day here again, it started out with some sunshine for a few hours this morning then got cloudy, I think we're in for more rain today. It was very windy & rainy yesterday, it was a perfect day to sleep in but I made cards instead. Here are 3 Halloween cards that I made yesterday just using scraps.

I used the 3 scalloped mounted images that I received from my Oct. RAK from Amber, their simple & I kinda like them...I luv putting googly eyes on Halloween images, I think they make the card more interesting & funny!

I had so much fun making these cards!

I made another card today & I love it but don't want to share it with you just yet. Hehehe!!! I'm saving it for tomorrow's post...I'm just a meanie I know, but you love me anyway. Tehehe! Well till tomorrow folks, have a great day & thanks for stopping by.

Baby Cards

TGIF, Hi Ladies,

Well it's Friday & the weekend is here! Bet your all happy about that? I made two baby cards the other day using some scraps that I had, I'm taking Maria's advice & trying to use some scraps in my cards, but Maria has a lot more scraps than I do I'm sure. Heehee!!! Hey, Maria you could always put some scraps in with your RAK's, (that's what I do) I got that idea from someone too. We as the receiver's like some new paper every once in awhile & I luv it! I've used some of the scrap paper that I've received in the cards below. These cards have scraps, except for the Karen Foster DP.

Does anyone have a tutorial for the tin card can boxes? I would like to make one to put my cards in & have seen some great looking ones but have not seen a tutorial.

Well have a great night & an even greater weekend. Thanks for stopping by my blog & if you have a chance please sign my guest book! Happy stamping ladies!

Hugs...Rita

Allison's B & W Challenge for Christmas

This card I just made for Allison's B & W Card challenge. I made this star Saturday while the SU Demo Beth was at the crop fest so I could use her punches & buy the white shimmer CS to make this beauty & when I got home I saw that Allison had a black & white challenge & thought hmmmm, I could use my star on this card & work around it to create a card. I'm very happy at the way this card turned out, I don't think I'll part with this beauty! I'm keeping it for myself. Don't you do that too sometimes? Well have a nice evening & thanks for stopping by.

Fall into Fun Crop Fest!

Hi ladies!

Hope your all having a great weekend! I had a great time yesterday at the Crop Fest, look at the photos below. I know some of you wanted me to make sure that I took photos...so I did.

Here is a card I made last weekend, I luv the way this card came out!

CS: Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky & WW
CM Bubble punch
The stamped images & sentiment are from Malieta She knows I luv Penguins!
Brads are from A.C. Moore
Cuttlebug snowflake folder

I still have a few cards to post from last weekend, so I will be posting them during the week. I have a lot to do this week so I hope I get around to making some cards & getting some scrapping done. There is never enough hours in a day, don't you feel that way sometimes?

Tammi & Brenda had 2 rooms for all us scrappers. This is the big room (Brenda's room) where the make & takes were set up. I was at one table helping Tammi with the make & takes & there was a SU table for Beth & Bree's make & takes.

Here are some of the girls at my make & take table. Tammi had some pumpkin & acorn journal boxes to make, a lion & sun border made with the paisley punch, a flower border made with the petal punch & my Halloween 2,5,7,10 bag.

We played games & this particular game you had to complete a page layout & after you completed it you had to yell out 'I want to get leied" & you receive the lei to wear till the next person yells! It's so much fun! Bonnie was so proud that she got to yell & wear the lei.

This is the smaller room (Tammi's room). Here's Tammi she's such a sweetie, but don't let her fool you - she was goofing off when I came in to take her picture & straightened out so that I could take the picture. She deserves to goof off 'cause we had her running ragged! Heehee!!! Your a good sport Tammi!

Diane was making her Thanksgiving & Christmas cards & got a lot done, she probably got them all done, way to go Diane!

Well that's it for today, thanks for stopping by & peeking, hope you all have a great Sunday! Talk to you tomorrow.

Hugs...Rita

7 Facts about myself tag

I've been tagged by Malieta from Life's Simple Pleasures, check out her blog she is one talented lady & has been a big inspiration to me, she is very talented & started her blog around the same time I started mine, so we have become very close. This tag is about me telling you all 7 facts about myself, so here goes:

1. I love to shop!!! Shop till you drop...yep that sounds like me all right! But
now that I'm retired I have to watch what I spend. I can no longer buy whatever
I want any more & that's really hard for me, but I'm getting there, at least now
I can say no.

2. I love Chocolate!

3. I hate bugs, yuck!!! Any kind of bug, small, big, whatever, I call hubby to
kill those nasty things. I look at it this way, its my house & bugs are NOT
welcome...they have ALL that space outside, so that's where they belong, right?

4. I love working with numbers, that's why I loved my job so much (accounting Tech.).
What can I say, I'm weird!

5. I love to give people gifts. I like to see the look on their faces when they
open the gift I gave them. The excitement on someones face is the best gift of
all & that's all the thanks I need. That's why Christmas is my favorite holiday.

6. I hate going through menopause! You'll understand when you go through it...
its NOT FUN!!!

7. I want to move to Arizona or Northern Nevada in a few years. I want to go out
west where its warm. We love the west, its our plan right now...but who knows
we may change our minds.

Now I have to tag some people, so I'm going to tag Rhonda, Jen, & Samantha Good luck ladies!

Name Tag
I've also been tagged by Rhonda check out her blog, she's such a talented lady she really is worth the visit you will be amazed! Thank you Rhonda! This tag is called the Name Game & since I don't have a middle name I'm going to just put one down, so here it is:

M Merry...I'm always smiling! I've always felt that it doesn't take much to give
someone a smile. It may brighten someones day!
A Anxious, my mind works faster than my mouth...so my mouth doesn't always
catch up, so I don't always make sense. Does that make sense???
R Respectful of others, most of the time!
I Inspired, I am so inspired by all my fellow bloggers, you are all so talented!
E Enriched, my life has been enriched by all of you & you have given me a new
energy. I have met some wonderful people here in blog land & I thank you all!

Now I am supposed to tag some people but I'm not going to do that because I think a lot of you have already been tagged & some do not want to give out their middle names & I totally agree, so I am not tagging anyone.

Sorry for the way this post is set up, I have the margins set out right but when I review it, it comes out all out of whack & I don't know why...oh well.

That's it for today ladies. Thanks so much for stopping by & peeking. Have a nice day!

One Card, Two Ways Challenge

Good evening all!

Hope you all had a great day! It was misty & rainy here all day today, but we needed the rain. Hope the sun comes back tomorrow, I'm getting sick of the rain this week. Here is another card that I made this weekend, I cased this card from somewhere while I was blog surfing last week & don't know who I got it from, so if it looks familiar to someone please let me know who's blog or gallery I got it from so that I can acknowledge you with a link on my blog. I really liked this card. It can be viewed 2 ways so I thought why not enter it in Stampingranny's Challenge called "One Card, Two Ways" kill two birds with one stone...no, no, no not really kill a bird...heehee!!! Just a saying, my mom used to say that all the time, used to make me laugh! Well have a great evening ladies & I will talk to you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by & checking out my blog.

Hugs...Rita

Thank You Card

Hi everyone!

I know it's been awhile since I've posted...Please forgive me! I've been in a creative frenzy the last few days...since World Stamping Day Saturday. I've made 7 cards, that's a lot for me, and my mind is still going crazy with ideas. Hubby & I have been going out a lot lately & I just can't wait to get home to create more cards, so I have been staying up late (can't sleep, mind won't shut off) making cards, my DH thinks I've totally lost my mind (hmmm...maybe I have heehee!) So I am going to post 1 a day, every day & still try to make at least 1 or 2 a day, maybe this burst of creativity will help me build up my card stash. I can only hope to get ahead of the game & maybe start doing some challenges, well that sounds like a plan to me, lets see if I can keep it!

I went with my daughter Jessica and her Maid of Honor & BF Sarah last night to the Bridal Salon where I bought my dress (for the wedding) to look at Bridesmaid dresses, poor Sarah must have tried on at least 30 or more dresses, but she loved it! They found a dress & ordered it, in order to get the discount & free alterations, (great deal)! Her colors are: Maid of Honor will be in Hot Pink with a Pale Pink sash, the Bridesmaids will be in Pale Pink with Hot Pink sash, it's really very pretty! Well all is done now, just have to do a lot of waiting & the girls will start planning the Bridal Shower now. Jessica is so excited she's just beaming!!!

Well have a great night all & thanks for stopping by. Here is one of the cards that I made this weekend. Enjoy!

Hugs...Rita

Your Not Going To Believe This!!!

Yes, another post. OMG...your not going to believe this & don't laugh too Hard girls! I will never live this down with Tammi (CM consultant & friend) & my hubby. Hubby could not stop laughing. Well remember I told you we had a Scrap fest this weekend & I was working so hard to get everything done on time for tomorrow? Well, are you ready for this, can you guess? If you guessed that I had the wrong weekend then give yourselves a pat on the back! I know that you are laughing your heads off, right? Well I can blame it on menopause or old age (57 that's not really old?) RIGHT? This is what happened... My son called me & I was upstairs Packing up my supplies in my cases for tomorrow so did not hear the phone (my phone is on the opposite side of the house downstairs) so when I did not answer he called my hubby's phone (hubby went down to the store & forgot his phone) so I ran downstairs 'cause I knew it was Marc (my son). When I answered my son said "Oh you don't answer your phone but answer dad's"? When I told him that I could hear hubby's phone 'cause it was closer to stairs, so I could hear it. I went into the den & saw that I missed 2 calls, he did not call twice. When I got off of the phone with him I checked to see who else called, it said Tammi (I didn't notice when she called...it was a few days ago). I called Tammi & asked her what she wanted, she said she did not call today (you getting the picture...I think I'm going nuts!!!) I said OK I'll see you tomorrow, she said tomorrow, what's tomorrow? The crop, no no no that's next week! It's a good thing I called her, cause I would have gotten up early & drove 35 to 40 miles to the hotel & no one would have been there & I would have thought I had the WRONG HOTEL!!! Are you laughing...I know I am just picturing it! Thank God I called her by mistake! Well that's your laugh for today & its at my expense. So there won't be any pictures of the crop fest this weekend. Have a great weekend all & thanks for stopping by.

Hugs...Rita

Happy Mail!

Another post & on the same day, (yikes!) after being away for a whole week...Wow what's happening? I just received some happy mail that's why!!! Heehee!!! I won some blog candy from Samantha over at A Scrap Addicts Blog go check it out, she has a great blog & she's such a sweetie!!!. She had some stamped images wrapped up with ribbon & a Prima flower...so pretty! Lots of images, just what I needed since I don't have many stamps, I was so happy that I won, it was the very first time that I won anything! The card that she sent along with it is so cute, & yes Samantha I luv it!!! Thank you sooo much.

Halloween Bag

I know I haven't been blogging for a week, so sorry but I've been very busy getting things ready for the Scrap fest this weekend. I finished everything that I had to do yesterday, Whew!!! Plus hubby & I have been in & out of the house all week, just a very busy week for us.

Here's a picture of the Halloween bag that we will be making at the make & take table Saturday,(I have an orange one too) what ever color they want to make they will have 2 choices, (see the googly eyes? I luv them!), plus there will be other make & takes that I will be helping people make. It's a full weekend of scraping & stamping at a hotel about 30 miles away from home, it gives everyone an excuse to work on their scrapbooks for a whole weekend! I'm only going for the whole day on Saturday, I think she said they have about 35 people going. I will take some pictures & post on Sunday or Monday. Should be a lot of fun...I can't wait.

Have a great weekend everyone & thanks for stopping by.

Hugs...Rita
