Glideabella!!!

Hi everyone!

It looks like a beautiful day out there today! The sun is shinning, it's still a little cold but at least it's sunny! I have to go out later to get my hair done at the Salon where my daughter works, she does a great job on my hair, but I'm not getting it cut till after the wedding so that I can put it up for the wedding. I'll try it & see if I'm going to like it up or cut it a little & wear it down, we'll see when the time comes, I want to play with it by the beginning of June & see which way I'm going to go.
Well on to today's card. This is a card that I made for Mary in New Hampshire as a thank you for sending me all those wonderful stumps last week. This is Glideabella, with a candy kiss holder & candy wrapper to match the card & I also sent her one of the mail boxes that I made. I got this idea for the kiss & candy holders from Dawn's blog & thought I would try it. I luv it, it was so easy to make, thanks Dawn for all your wonderful tutorials. She has a suspension card tutorial today that is great, go check it out! I want to make one of those when I get a chance, it looks easy.

Well I've gotta go take my shower & get ready to go out. Have a wonderful & productive day today & I'll talk to you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by & visiting me today.

Hugs...Rita

Valentine Cards for the Troops

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend. We got a lot of snow here yesterday, it's so beautiful, I luv to see the snow falling & see everything covered in white! The trees are so beautiful in white, but then everything starts to melt & get dirty, yuk! I only like it when it's fresh don't you? Well anyway, I have a couple of Valentine cards that I made Thursday night for Beate to send to the troops so that they could send them to their loved ones for Valentine's Day. I made a total of 5 cards so I will post the other 3 tomorrow. I had so much fun making these but i had to be quick about it so that I could mail them out Saturday morning. She needs to have them by the 31st. I did 5 cards in 2 hours, wow that was fast for me, usually I take 2 hours to make 1 card. Well anyway have a great Monday evening & I'll be back tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by today & happy stamping!

Another Mail Box!!!

Hi ladies!

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend! I am finally starting to get over my cold, I'm about 50% better. I haven't been sleeping well because of the cold. I went out yesterday to Michael's, AC Moore & my favorite store Target to get a few things that I needed...ha! When you say few things, don't you always spend more than you intended? I know I do, I'm like a kid in a candy store, I could spend hours in these stores just looking around & finding something that I need that wasn't on my list! I was only gone for 3 hours & when I got home I was so tired that I could barely keep my eyes open. I went to bed early & slept like a baby last night finally! So forgive me if I didn't get to post yesterday, I had every intention of posting this yesterday. I made another mail box, post-it, & a card on Sunday! I was in creative mode on Sunday & went to town making these, but I won't post the card till tomorrow, since I haven't made anything since then. Right now I'm in the process of looking for stamps that I need for the invitations & other things that I need for that, can't go into too much detail 'cause the knowing eyes might be looking! Hehehe!!! Can anyone tell me where I can buy 3" x 3" envelopes? I have looked everywhere but can't find them.

Have a great day & thank you so much for popping in.

Hugs...Rita

Target Mailbox!

Hi everyone!

So sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but I have a cold that my DH gave me. I thought I was in the clear 'cause he has had this cold for 2 weeks. Over the weekend I started with a horrible toothache that just would not quit, I had been taking advil for the pain with a little relief. I figured I would wait till I went to the dentist on Wednesday for a cleaning, by Tuesday morning the pain & throbbing went away & the tooth just felt like it was frozen & sensitive - no more pain though, strange, very strange, he took x-rays & could not see anything, so he could not do a thing for me. It could be the beginning of an abscess, time will tell, its still a little sensitive but every once in awhile a little throbbing, so I have to look out for swelling & call him right away. I have another appointment next week for a filling, so I'll see how it goes. That has never happened to me before. Then on Wednesday night the cold began & I have been miserable ever since. I hope it doesn't last as long as hubby's, I hate colds, don't you?

Well on a lighter side, I did manage to get something done today for you. I made another post-it cover (I luv those things) their so easy to make. I'm going to try another one that I cased from Julie that includes a pen holder, should be fun! I also made one of those fantastic mailboxes from Target that's only $1., that was so much fun to make, I luv how it came out. I have a few more I want to make & will post them over the next few weeks. Well that's all for today, I'm going to go rest on the couch, drink some liquids & watch TV. Have a great weekend ladies & thanks so much for dropping by today!

Hugs...Rita

Birthday Card & Fun in a Bottle!

Good afternoon ladies!

Hope you all had a great weekend. I got a lot accomplished, first I had lunch with some very special friends of mine that I used to work with, we had a great time. It's always great spending time with friends, we don't get to see each other often enough, that's the one thing I miss the most about not working. I need to get a part time job to help support my stamping habit, hehehe!!! Hopefully I'll get one soon, with any luck! Saturday night & Sunday I spent upstairs working on my son's birthday card & projects that I was making for him. I gotta tell you, I'm really happy the way this all turned out. Thanks to my good friend Flossie for doing a tutorial on this fun in a bottle project of hers, I always loved it, but didn't know how to do it. Thank You Flossie! Go check out her blog, she's one talented lady, your going to love her!!!

I also played a little for the first time with my Prisma pencils, I guess it takes some getting used to, but I also think that I need a better stump for the OMS. I was reading a thread over at SCS & they said that the stumps from China (the one that I have of course) are not very good, I need to get Tortillions stumps or the ones from Taiwan, they are better. I figured I would try it with what I had & see for myself, well I think their right. I have to find those stumps somewhere, does anyone know where I can get them? I'm not ordering anything from the Internet for awhile so it has to be a store around here, would Jo-Ann's sell them? The only one Michael's sells is the one I have from China that's where I got it. I think I will like using the Prisma pencils once I get it. Oh well I will try again another time.

It's snowing here right now & hubby just went out to shovel 'cause the storm is almost over & he wants to get a heads up on it now. It's so beautiful when its snows, don't you think? I'm going to go back to my craft room & try to make a card or two. Thanks for stopping by today & have a great Monday!
Sorry for the picture quality, it's a little fuzzy & I don't feel like going upstairs & trying to take more pictures.

Hugs...Rita

Grandma Will Be There In Spirit!

Hi everyone!

Well we got an errand out of the way today that is going to mean a lot to both me & my daughter. My mom passed away the day after Christmas last year, she was 95 years old & led a great long life. My mom had this emerald ring (she loved wearing rings) she used to wear this one all the time & I gave it to Jessica to remember her grandma. The ring was scratched & banged up & in need of a good cleaning. Jessica thought it would be a great idea to have her grandma with her on her wedding day in spirit. Gotta love this daughter of mine...she's so sentimental & thoughtful! So we went to the our Jeweler & had him clean up the ring as best he could & she is going to have the ring put into her bouquet so that her grandma will be with her in spirit on her wedding day. What a great idea, hah? My mom would have loved it!!!

Well I took a few things out of my craft room, just enough to get to my 2 tables so that I could start stamping again. I will have a card for you on Monday. I am going to take the weekends off from blogging until after the wedding so that I can work on scrapbooking & wedding things. I have way too much to do & need to get started on that stuff as soon as I order some stuff for those things. Take care & enjoy your weekend ladies. Thanks for stopping by today!

Good evening ladies!

Handkerchief Bonnet!

Hi Ladies!

Well here are some pictures of the Christening bonnets & poems. She had gotten two of these bonnets & yes I did use both of them for her Christening. Didn't want to jinx this by only using 1 bonnet & then she picks the one I didn't use, so I HAD to use both. She has plans for the other one, I guess she's like her mom she doesn't want to jinx tradition. Hehehe! Will tell you about that after the wedding, nothing like getting teased hah? I hope I remember all that I want to tell you after the wedding. Think that I will remember all this in a few months...I don't know, so you will have to remind me people!!! I think this is a fabulous idea with these bonnets, don't you? So we will have to snip those stitches & make it into a hankie, that's the next step!!!

Well talk to you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy your day!

Hugs...Rita

I'm Still Here!

Hi everyone!

Yes, I'm still alive! Thank you all for inquiring with your concern. I hope you all had a great Holiday Season! Now it's time to get back into the grove once again, I'm having a hard time doing just that, I think I need a good kick in the butt! I need to open my new stuff & start playing, but I have been trying to organize my craft room. I have also been running around looking & making plans with my daughter's bridal party for some place to have the bridal shower. Waiting for the final OK on that one place I think the girls decided on (I hope) so that I can start thinking of stamps to get & making samples for the shower invitations. Then picking the one that we will be using for the invite. In the mean time we just started (we got one side done) cleaning out the attic looking for the handkerchief/bonnet we used for Jessica's Christening (finally found that), you snip a few stitches & use it as a handkerchief (something old) on her wedding day. It was a handmade handkerchief stitched as a Christening bonnet, then you use it on your wedding day, there is a poem that comes with it that explains it all(someone gave these to my kids when they were born. The one for my son will be given to his bride to use. What a great idea hah? So now we are going to do the other side of the attic one or two boxes a day, I didn't realize how much stuff was up there, there are so many toys & stuffed animals & whatever...I saved so much from when my kids were small, even school papers. Original GI Joe's! Books & papers from when my hubby was in college. It's amazing! So my craft room is stuffed with the stuff that was in the closet to get to the crawl space to open the little door to the attic...stuff is everywhere so I can't get to my crafting for about another week. Then I will return in force. I do have to work on that bottle that Flossie made a tutorial for, you know the soda bottle. I'm doing that for my son's birthday & stuffing it with golf things. I also have to make his card, so I have to get that room done by this weekend...his birthday is a week from Saturday. No hurry there huh?

A lot of stuff that I will be making I won't be able to put on my blog because my daughter looks at my blog almost daily. I will have to post those things after the shower & wedding. I can't even tell you when that is right now, 'cause the all seeing eyes are looking at this, right Jess? I can at least tell you that the wedding is July 12th & will be here before we know it. This was a long winded post, so now that I burnt your ears off I will let you get back to making those wonderful cards that you all make. Take care & thanks for stopping by today.

Here are a few pictures we took Sunday of hubby in the attic, enjoy!

Hugs...Rita

This is the crawl space in the closet in my craft room that leads into the front attic, if you think this is small you should see the tiny one in my closet on the ceiling, it's even smaller than this one.

Well we know he can fit through, but can he get back in? Of course he can! Hehehe!!! When I put all this stuff in there I never gave it a thought about how old we would be when we got it out & if we would be able to. It's a good thing we did it now & not in another few years!

Jessica watching her father in there & laughing. Awwwwe! He's doing all this for me "she said"! Yep, she was always daddy's little girl, he would do anything for her, she had him wrapped around her little finger & still does to this day!

Hubby in an awkward position in the attic crawl space. He's right up against the slanted rooftop, its really small in there, that's why it's called the crawl space...hehehe!!! He's a trooper! It's amazing how much stuff I got in there.

This is what my craft room looks like right now...it's a mess. I have stuff in here & in my daughter's old bedroom. All this stuff goes into the closet in my craft room. That's not even counting the clothes that goes in there.
