New Award!

Hi everyone!

This is a quick post today, I need to finish my son's military book & take pictures. This was the very first scrapbook that started it all for me in 2004! He got out of the military last year & I needed to add 6 more pages with the last 2 years of his military career.

Here is an award that I received from Curt, isn't it just so beautiful!!! He designed this award himself with one of his gorgeous pictures, I just love it!!! Thank you so much Curt, I'm so happy to hear that I inspire people! I feel like all of you have given me so much more than I have given you. You all have taught me & inspired me to want to learn more from this craft of ours & I'm so proud to have made so many friendships along the way! Thanks again Curt, I am honored! Now I am going to list 10 of the people (this way it gives others a chance to choose some)that have inspired me but I won't repeat the ones that Curt has already chosen, OK! Here goes:

Dawn - Dawn's Stamping thoughts

Teri - Big Ideas from a Little Girl

Maria - Stampin' Inspirations

Risa (aka Malieta) - Life's Simple Pleasures

Lauren - My Time, My Creations, My Stampendence

Carolyn - My Blog

Allison - Stampin' when I can

Deb - Stampin' on the Mountain

Jana - 2 Worlds

Flossie - Flossie's Follies

Thanks to all of you!

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by today !

My Nestabilities Storage

Nestabilities Storage Tips

Hi everyone!

I used to store mine in CD cases but got tired of asking people for cd cases, no one buys cd's much anymore, my kids download their music onto their ipods. Here are the pictures of my NEW nestie’s storage system. I luv this & it does not take up much room. The folder for the long Rectangle nesties is called “Quickutz Revolution magnetic storage binder” and I got mine on ebay, I figured I would buy two of them & keep one in case Spellbinders made another large set , I bought 1 in black & 1 in white. Click Here to check it out. I just noticed that she doesn't have any right now, but they have them at Quickutz for $12.99.
The double CD case I got at Best Buy & I have plenty of room for future nesties, hehehe!! I bought thin magnetic sheets from Staples & cut them to fit inside the pockets, made them a little smaller than the pockets so that it would be easy to slide in & out & kept a template of the size for when I add to my collection & my collection is growing. Also someone on SCS said what they did for the longer rectangles was to cut the first pocket on the bottom of the CD case & make a longer magnetic sheet to slide the nesties in, but I liked the Quickutz folder better. The first 2 nesties that I bought were the large regular ovals & the large regular scallop ovals, then I got smart & starting ordering the complete sets because they came out cheaper than ordering just 2, I just have to wait longer to receive them & that’s OK by me as long as I’m getting a good deal on them. I think that the nesties are one of the best purchases that I have ever made, I just luv them so much! So I hope this helps you & gives you another idea for storing your nesties.

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by today!

This is the Quickutz Revolution magnetic storage binder. It lays nice & flat or you could stand it upright like a book, it's nice & sturdy. The cheapest place I found was on ebay for around $9.95 I think.

Open folder. One side of the folder has a cover so that the magnetic sides don't stick together. Take the cover off & the other nesties are there. I luv this folder, but sometimes its hard to get them out so I have my CM flat tool to slide underneath & get them loose, I only have to that when I cut my fingernails short. Every so often I cut my nails down really short when they start to break.

Take the cover off on the right side & there are the other nesties.

This is what the Double CD case looks like closed, it has a zipper. It was $19.99 at Best Buy & I got it on sale last week for $17. & change. I think that's a great deal for this storage system. I think the magnetic sheets were just over $10. for 4 sheets which netted 4 cuts per sheet & a little trimming. My final measurements for the magnetic sheets for the pockets were 4 1/4" X 4 1/2" & they slide nice & easy when you need to take them in & out.

I put a label on the sheet to let me know what size they are & then put a label on the outside pocket of what they are, square, round, rectangle, etc. Not that I don't know but I like to label everything!

The Squares & the Round ones I just got in 2 weeks ago & used the rest of my magnetic sheets. Time to go back to Staples to get more magnetic sheets.

This is what they look like on the thin magnetic sheet when you take them out of the pocket. I take them out, work with them this way then when I'm done I just slide them back in the CD pocket.

Easy to slide in & out whenever you need them

Revised to add that the Square scallop nesties don't nestle perfect so I split those up into 2 pockets each for the large & the small. So there are only 3 nesties in those pockets.

Frankenstein Card

Good morning everyone!!!

Don't ya just luv this Frankie card? It's so darn cute!!! I found this card on Dawn's site, she has a video on how to make this card so click here to view the video, it was so much fun to make too! The only stamping is the sentiment! So have some fun & make one of your own!

I went shopping yesterday & finally got my Double CD holder from Best Buy to store all my nestabilities in & let me tell you it doesn't take up much space & I luv it!!! Now all I have to do is reach for this & their all inside. I bought some thin magnetic sheets from Staples & cut them to fit inside the CD pockets & it fits like a charm, it's the greatest storage system that works for me...no more CD cases to sort through. I first got the idea from Beate for the CD holder then I got the double CD holder idea from someone on SCS & knew that was the one I wanted for storage for me. The long nestabilities I store in a magnetic folder that someone told me about, again that idea came from SCS, I can't remember the name of those folders off hand. When I take pictures I'll see if the name is on the folder. I'll have to take pictures for you to see & post them sometime next week.

Take care & have a great Sunday! Thanks for stopping by & peeking!!!

Good morning!

I escaped into my craft room yesterday (to shake off the blues) to make two cards, yippee!!! I need to start making 3 cards each time I sit down to create cards because I need to fill some tins that I will be making & filling up with all occasion cards for the year to give as Christmas gifts. Are you getting sick of Sarah Kay yet??? I have one more image you haven't seen here yet, so hang on! I promise I will make other cards soon! When I was uploading my cards I noticed a mistake once again on the second card, can you see it? When putting down my DP I ended up putting it upside down, dah!!! Oh well, don't tell anyone, OK??? Hehehe!!! The first card is fine! :o)

How do you like my sentiment? Pretty neat hah? I got this idea from Ashley, oops, just checked her video for the link & I did mine a little different but that's ok, I'll remember for next time. Take a peek you might want to try it!!! Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day!

Bubble Queen

Well I just uploaded these photos & it just now started to thunder & lightning, so this is short & sweet. I also need to go take a shower & get ready to go out. Hopefully the softball game won't get cancelled. My son is in a softball tourney & we went to see him last night, his team won so another game tonight (maybe, if the weather co operates) if they win this one then they win the tourney & we celebrate! After the game last night we went over to Cold stone's in Newport for ice cream, just like we used to do when he was little after a game, it brought back lots of fun memories. Well that's it for now, talk to you again soon. Boy, did it get dark out...looks like its night time. Have a great day & thanks for stopping by today.

PS: Just as I was ready to save this post the electricity went out & I thought I lost this whole post, thankfully when I turned the computer back on & went over to my blog, this post was still there so I don't have to re write it, yippee!!! Take care!

Teri's Birthday RAK finally arrived - it took just over 3 weeks for this package to get to Teri. I told her I think it got on the SLOW boat to China!!! I'm so happy you finally got it, I was getting very worried & ready to go back to the post office & complain again. Their excuse was that it could take up to 3 weeks because of cut backs, yeah right! This is the only time that I have ever had a problem like this, well it's over & you got it, so that's all that counts. So glad you like everything!

UHU Product Review

Here is a review for UHU Twist & Glue

First of all I want to say that this review is real late, but only because I had the wedding coming up when I received the package from UHU & after the wedding I just had no mojo going on for a long time, so I'm so sorry Alyssa, but better late than never! I offered to do another review on this new product from UHU. Now you all know what I'm like when I attempt to work with liquid glue, right? Well this is easier to control the flow because it has 3 different ways for the glue to come out, you twist to get the desired level of flow that you want, which is a great feature on this product by the way, if you need to glue a large area you twist the dial for the largest amount of flow, you also have a small & a medium flow as well...great idea! Well anyway I did good on that front, but my problems began after I got the glue on my paper & stars....I made a big mess & had glue everywhere! But this glue does stick well if you like liquid glue, I can attest to that all right!!! I actually had to toss out my project & start over with less glue & being very careful with the glue I did use, but I also cheated on the stars & used my own glue on the wood then sanded the paper down on the stars, (just cheated a little bit). Me & liquid glue will never marry up that's for sure, I just can't deal with it, so no more trying, I gave it my best shot. I'm much happier with tape runners & little fine glue pens, no mess. I know that some of you ladies like liquid glue & this product may be for you. Thank you Alyssa for letting me try again.

Take care all, I'll be back tomorrow! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Little Girl & her Teddy

Hi everyone,

Hope you had a great day. I just went out to get my hair colored & trimmed (no more long hair) today at the salon where my daughter works. Jessica always does such a great job with my hair, I luv this new hair style! I'll have to get a picture of myself soon & change the one that's on my blog. OK, on to my card!

I just luv these Sarah Kay stamps, I can't get enough of them! This one is of a little girl & her teddybear. Do you remember how much your kids loved their teddy's? My kids would not to go to bed without their teddy, I can't tell you how many times I had to sew Mark's teddy, especially his feet! This stamp reminds me of those days & I luv the sentiment I picked for this, it says it all!!! I still have a few more of these Sarah Kay stamps to color & make into cards so stay tuned for more & when Pam & I get together again (when my SU order arrives) I'll have some different cards to share with you. I want to try my hand at something new so I'm printing some tutorials from SCS & other blogs as well of cards for us to make together. I can't wait, I've already picked 3 card styles for us to work on Pam!!! Well have a great evening & thanks for stopping by today.

I've been Tagged

I was tagged by Deanna a few weeks ago & just now got around to posting this, I’m really bad at keeping up with tags & awards, so please forgive me Deanna. Thanks so much for thinking of me.

Here are 7 things about me.

1. I hate being around negative people. Everything that comes out of their mouth is negative ALL the time; they never have anything good to say. I just can’t deal with that.

2. I'm not a morning person, never have been Plus the fact that I don’t get to bed till like 1 am or later sometimes. When I worked I used to force myself to get to bed by 11 pm but couldn't fall asleep till after midnight.

3. My family means the world to me.

4. I once worked in a pickle factory when I was in high school & lasted 2 days!

5. I got so drunk one time playing the drinking game pass out (in my single days) & locked myself in the bathroom & fell asleep on the floor (this was on a skiing trip in a rented chalet in NH), when my friends woke me up (big mistake) I had so much energy I went outside to throw snowballs at 3 am & they had a hard time getting me back inside…when they did I went to La la land till morning! Those were the days!!!

6. We lived in Aberdeen & then in Laurel Maryland for 3 years in the mid 70’s my son was 7 months at the time.

7. My desk at work always had to be neat & organized,. My craft room also had to be neat & organized (as much as possible) until I started doing stuff for the shower & wedding, then it looked like a cyclone hit my craft room, what a mess. It was driving me crazy but I was too lazy to clean it. I finally cleaned it when I knew Pam was coming over (hi Pam!) last weekend & because it got to the point that I could no longer find anything! That is not like me, but I’m real happy now that it’s clean again.

OK, so this tag has been around for awhile now so I’m not going to choose 7 people because I don’t know who didn't get it yet. If you have not gotten it consider yourself tagged by me & copy this tag along with 7 facts about yourself & put it on your blog.

I'll be right back with an RAK that I received.

Water Bottle Holder

Happy Monday everyone!!!

Wow, I had a great weekend! I finally have someone to stamp with...yippee!!! The girl that I buy SU from is as excited about stamping as I am, we drooled over the new catalog & promised to get together about every 2 weeks to work on cards & projects. We can learn from each other, we're like two kids in a candy store with wide eyes & we want it all!!! Hehehe, right Pam? I had a great time, (Hi Pam!) & can't wait to do it again. I gave her one of these water bottles & she loved it! Pam made a beautiful picture frame of her niece with her girlfriend, she decorated the inside with lots of bling around the picture then added a ghost flower with a crystal to the corner of the pewter frame, it came out so beautiful! I showed her how the nesties work & how to use them in the cuttlebug & made lots of samples for her to take home. She can't wait to get some of her own, she's so excited. I placed an order (nothing great mostly supplies like CS, punches, etc.) with her but No stamps yet for me, next order. I still have loads of supplies & tools to buy & it adds up quick as you all know so well!

Well I found this great water bottle idea from Angie over at Chic n' Scratch, if you want to know how to do this she has a video tutorial here I'm sure your going to want to make some of these!

Well that's it for today, so have a great day & I will see you tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by today!

Anyone for a Bubble Bath???

Hi everyone,

Hope your all having a fabulous weekend & enjoying some good weather. This is a card I made for Flossie's birthday, I love how it turned out! I sent her a BRAK package about 10 days ago & she finally received it today, I can't believe how slow it's taking for packages to get to their destinations. My birthday RAK to Teri is on a SLOW boat to China then going to Hawaii because it's been just over 2 weeks since I mailed that package & she has not gotten it yet, cheesh!!! Anyway, I got her a lavender bath bomb (that's what they call it) with a lavender candle, & a few small goodies. Hopefully she will enjoy her nice relaxing bath, I figured she would need it after her stressful move to a new place, so enjoy Flossie!!! She should be back blogging & making cards soon! We miss you!

Well that's it for today, take care & enjoy your weekend! Thanks for stopping by today!

Last of the Engagement Layout Pages

Hi gang!

Look what I've been doing today! I worked on finishing Jessica's engagement book, so it's all done! Whew!!! All she needs to do now is to journal, I wanted her to do the journaling because she is the only one who knows how she felt when things were progressing & moving right along towards her special day! I will help guide her & so we will do it together, I know how she & I hate to journal, but you really need to do it so that years from now her children will know who everyone is in these pictures & what she was thinking. I made a heritage book on my mom's life & a lot of the old pictures I did not know who those people were, my mom already had dementia so she was of no help at that time, this is the reason you need to talk about family history & old pictures or else it will be lost forever or worse some children throw out those pictures because they don't know who's in them. I kept some & just journaled that I didn't know who they were. So get out those old pictures & talk to your parents & grandparents about them. Good luck! Now I'll have wedding books to do for me & my daughter & maybe just maybe with all the leftover pictures I have I think I'll make each of the girls a small album of the times shared with Jessica through out her journey to her wedding day. I already have over 200 pictures & I'm ordering a few 5x7's & some duplicates for the girls albums. No pictures from the photographer to view yet, I don't know how long it takes but a few people have told me it takes awhile. Hopefully I can get the albums done by next year...hee! hee! One day at a time, right?

Take care all & have a great evening! Thanks for stopping by today!
