Altered Mini Composition Book

Hi everyone!

Hope your all having a great day! I made this mini composition book to give to Teri along with some other goodies for her BRAK. Yep it's OK to let the cat out of the bag because Teri got my package yesterday. Not like last year where her package took the SLOW boat to China before making it's way to Hawaii which took 4 weeks to get to her. I was thinking it got lost in the mail & went to the post office twice to complain only to hear that it takes time...4 weeks I don't think so! This time it only took less than a week...go figure! This little cute chick was colored in by my good friend Sandi when she was here last week (thanks Sandi) & I was teaching her how to color with Prisma pencils & OMS, she's a fast learner & she did a great job on this chick. I figured since it was colored already & oh so cute I decided to use it for this book. Isn't it so cute? I saw the video tutorial on Angie's blog so if you want to give it a try click here to take a look. Now isn't this a great little book to keep on your desk or in your purse to jot down all those little things that you don't want to forget...hmmmmmm that reminds me I think I should make one for myself since I'm always forgetting things, hehehe!!! I think I'd loose my head if it wasn't screwed on straight or maybe it's not so straight after all hahaha!!! Take care & happy stamping all!

I got these mini composition books at Wal-Mart for .77 cents but with school supplies on sale right now I'm sure you can get these a lot cheaper now, I heard someone say they got some at Staples 3 for a dollar or something like that. I need to go over there & see if I can pick up more for that price.

Doesn't this make a great to-do book or anything else you want to help keep you on track?

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to come visit me! Have a great day!

Smackin' Acetate Technique

Good afternoon peeps!

Well I won't be going to the cape after all, the weather is too cloudy & we're afraid we will get caught in the rain later so hopefully we will go next week if the weather co-operates...sheesh!!! Oh well such is life, hah?

I started this card last weekend & then I saw Gina K's StampTV video on this kool technique called "Smackin' Acetate" & decided to give it a try on this card. It took a few tries to get it the way I was at least happy with it, it's not perfect but it looks good (you should see the ones I threw out) & I'm happy with it. I will use this technique again sometime...it was fun! If you want to give it a try click here for Gina's video & be prepared to have some fun!

I think I'm going to break down & get me some copics for skin tones, after I uploaded this picture to my blog her face looks so pale & needs more defined color. What colors should I buy for skin tones & cheeks? Let me know what you think, I really would like your feed back on what to do about the faces.

Anyone for Coffee???

Hello Peeps!!!

It's raining here today, what else is new. We have more rainy days than sunny this summer, so we try to get out whenever we have a good day. We hope to go to the Cape tomorrow, it is supposed to be the best day of the week. Scattered thunderstorms are predicted for the rest of the week so I hope tomorrow they will hold off till the night time.

Here is a gift card holder I made last week & I luv how it turned out. My plan was to make something totally different but when I saw Angie's (Chic n' Scratch)video tutorial I decided to make this one instead. I love how she used an envelope cut in half to make two pockets...I used one for a sentiment & the other for the gift card & decorated my card in the coffee theme. Soooo do you want to go out for some coffee...we can make it a girl's afternoon out & yak & yak & yak about anything that we like & have a great ole time?

Punch Art Book

Hello all!

This will be a quick post today, I have so much to do before going out today.

I made a punch art scrapbook (mine is an 8x8) & I still have some more to do but thought I would share some with you today & tomorrow. These are so darn cute & I just love things like this...just think of the possibilities, you could put them on a card or on top of a box or put them on a big paper clip, or even on top of a post it holder just to name a few. I got the idea from Angie over at Chic' n Scratch & then found a few other pages from different blogs in blogland but the majority came from Angie's blog, so take a look & create your very own punch book!

Have a great weekend everyone & thanks for dropping by today!

Stamp Inventory Binders

Good morning everyone!

OMGoodness, we had so much fun yesterday!!! I showed Sandi a lot of things about stamping, we made a card & a template for her to have on hand on how to make a spring card. I gave her some stamped images & we cut them out with a few different nestabilities so that she could make a few cards when she has time. She told me I just created a monster! Hehehe!!! Dan grilled us some hamburgers & made us a salad for lunch & then he took off to leave us ladies alone in our stamping glory! What a great guy I married hah? He's the BEST! I had a ball Sandi & can't wait to do it again, maybe bring Janis next time (her daughter) just leave the kids with her mother-in-law for the day, she would love that!

Ok all, here is my stamp inventory binders that I talked about last week. By setting up these binders it saves me so much time, now my sets are in company sections & by each stamp or sentiment (in the sentiment binder as well) I have a little note telling me where to find the stamp in my craft room...yes I did put that info in pencil in case I move the stamp into a different section as I get organized. I tried to think ahead, hahaha!!! I still have a lot more to put into these binders but a little at a time right?! I'm about halfway done with this. As I get new sets what I will do from now on is make a copy of the picture of the whole set & then adhere it to the page, so that all I need to stamp is the sentiments in that binder. Leave me a comment & let me know what you think, tell me how you keep track of your stamps.

This is my SU stamp section

This is my Hanna Stamp section

This binder holds all my sentiments by category...Birthday, Get Well, Sympathy, Wedding, etc. I luv this, now all I have to do is look in the binder for a sentiment & see where it is & go get it, saves so much time from searching through my sets to see what I want to use.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Keeping Tabs on Card Stock & SU Punches!

Hi everyone!

Well as promised here is my first post on my attempt at organizing my time & craft room, hope you like it!

I used to spend a long time going through my SU filing drawer & Papertrey file bin to see what card stock I wanted to use to match a DP that I had in mind for a card & so I wanted something that would cut down on the searching time & came up with this after buying Cat's SU punch key ring. Now all I have to do is take out the key ring & check the colors & if I need more card stock in that color the stock number is right there, nice & easy & simple to make. I bought the big rings at Wal-Mart, their cheap enough. I cut the card stock 2 1/2 X 3 1/2. I made one for SU card stock & one for Papertrey, I will be working on one for Gina K Pure Luxury card stock when I buy some of her colored card stock, right now I only have 2 colors. I laminated the top white cs & I think I'm going to laminate a back piece as well. I'll have more tips for you tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great evening!

The name & stock number are right on the card stock so it's easy to jot down when I'm running low on a certain color.

This is where I got the idea for my card stock key rings. I bought this SU punch key ring from Cat so that I can have it handy to see if a word will fit into a punch before I stamp it or if it will work with a layout that I might have in mind. She does update it with new punches every so often when SU comes out with some new ones. So head on over there if you want one.

Happy First Anniversary!

Hello peeps!

Wow, I can't believe it has been a year already! Time sure does fly by fast doesn't it? HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Jessica & Steve!!! Hope you had a great time in Maine!

Here is the card I sent to them for their anniversary! I messed up a little on the inside sentiment, it got smudged when I adhered the heart to the card darn it! You can see it in the picture, that's what I get for printing out the sentiment instead of stamping it but I didn't have a good stamp for anniversary. I need to find some good sentiments for weddings & anniversaries, I think I need some for baby cards too.

I have my good friend Sandi coming over Tuesday & we're going to play & maybe make a card or two. Sandi is fairly new to stamping & she wants to learn more about the embossing folders & nesties. So I'll see what she wants to learn first & then take it from there. I can't wait to see her, she moved away & now lives a little more than 2 hours away so it's hard getting together.

I'll be sharing some of my organizing tips this week that I've been working on lately or should I say whenever I get a chance to work on them. I think you'll like these & may want to give a few of them a try. I don't know when hubby is going to get around to putting up my rails but whenever he does I'll be sure to take some pictures of that when I get punches on them. I have to go back to Ikea & get the little plastic cups to put on them too, I think I'm going to put all my pencils in them (Prisma's, Koh-i-noor & cheapo pencils). I need to get things off of my tables & give me more room to create!

Thanks for spending a little part of your day with me today, I appreciate it & I love reading all of your comments! Have a great day...now go make a card! Hehehe!!!

Just checking in...

Hello Peeps!

Just checking in to let you know that I am A OK. I had a few people emailing me this week to see if I was OK. I've been working on some organizing in my craft room & will share some of that soon. I went to Ikea Tuesday to get those Bygel rail bars & baskets & S rings so I can hang on the wall (whenever DH gets around to it) to put my punches on & some other stuff. I'm still working on an inventory system of my stamps & am very happy with it...it seems to be working out for me but I still have so many stamps to put into that inventory list. I also want to save some money for some carts or cubes with drawers or something to put all this stuff in & make my room look pretty. My New Years resolution was to get organized by the end of the year, I don't know if I can it the way I want it to look by then but at least I'm making progress. My idea of how I want it to look is bigger than my budget I'm afraid but hey...a little at a time right?!

I'm still surfing your blogs & visiting you all. I need to make a card by the end of the week so I should have a card to post next week. Talk to you again soon. Have a great day & thanks for stopping by today!

Mellie baked another cake...

Good mornin' peeps!

OMGosh it has been thundering & pouring buckets this morning since about 7 am. When is this rain going to go away? Oops I think I better close for now it seems to be right over my head...I'll be back after it passes. I'm back & right now the sun peeked out from the clouds for just a moment. It got so dark, it was like night time. I was by myself for awhile there & I hate being alone during a LOUD mean thunder storm don't you? This rain is really working on every one's nerves now, we all want to enjoy summer! I guess I didn't get any takers to swap some rain for a little sunshine hah??? Oh well!

Well as I said yesterday I went to see Jessica so she could do my hair & guess what? I decided to cut my hair & I think now I need to let it grow just a little before the wedding....the rain made me do it!!! I needed a change. She styled it straight but I have not had my hair straight for ages & I just can't get used to it with this old face! So later today I will try it curly & see if I like it better but I think I want to do the other (just a tad longer) hair style that we looked at that was just a little longer & styled a little different. Well at least it grows!!!

I needed Mellie to bake another birthday cake & she obliged...ymmmmm her cakes are soooo delicious!!!! Here is another Anime birthday card & I decorated the inside! I bought that MS fence punch a while ago & was dieing to use it so I decided this was the card...I think I like how it came out! Well that's it for today, I hope you all have a great July 4th celebration & weekend, enjoy! See you next week!

Post it holder

Hello everyone!

This is a quick post I'm getting ready to go out the door to see Jessica so she can do my hair...today is highlights & a cut. She's an awesome stylist & I luv how she does my hair. I can't wait to cut my hair shorter but I have to wait till after the wedding for that because I think I'm going to put my hair in an up-do again.

Well here is a post it note holder that I made when I was doing the spring cards, these are great to put in RAK's or a little bag for a quick gift to say I'm thinking of you! Have a great day!
